        Workaround :
        ------------

Install .NET Framework 3.5 and then do the custom installation of GF4.0B72.
Creation of OS Service will work fine.

Steps to install / Enable .NET Framework 3.5 :
        ---------------------------------------------

In Control Panel, choose Programs and Features, choose Turn Windows features on or off,
and then select the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 check box. This option requires an Internet connection.

        Truobleshooting :
        -----------------

Sometimes Installing the .NET Framework 3.5 on demand or enabling it in Control Panel fails with elow error

0x800f0906: “Windows couldn't connect to the Internet to download necessary files. Make sure that you're connected to the Internet, and click Retry to try again.”

To fix this issue follow the below steps :

        1) Start the Local Group Policy Editor or Group Policy Management Console (settings -> edit group policy ).
        2) Expand Computer Configuration, expand Administrative Templates, and then select System.
        3) Go to all settings , Open the Specify settings for optional component installation and component repair Group Policy setting, and then select Enabled.
        4) Select the Contact Windows Update directly to download repair content instead of Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) check box.
        5) At an elevated command prompt, type the following command and then press Enter to apply the policy immediately:
        gpupdate /force

This shouldn't be assigned to me – I don't know anything about installation.

        My recommendations are:

        (1) Automatically install .Net framework
        (2) document how to do (1)

Changing from "fix in 4.0" to "future release". The option to Create an OS service is through the Custom Install option, which is supposed to be either removed or grayed out. Regardless, this option is not supported in GF4.0.

The GUI installer is going away in 4.0.1, therefore we do not plan on fixing this issue.
