I just tried on the java_ee_sdk-7-b79-jdk7-windows.exe distribution using two Windows 7 systems. My HP desktop and my Dell laptop. Both have Windows 7 SP1, 64bit OS. I'm seeing the following error

"The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher"

I hope this helps understand the issue better.

Seeing the same problem with the java_ee_sdk-7-web-b79-jdk7-windows.exe . Not on the java_ee_sdk-7-web-b79-jdk7-windows-x64.exe distribution. Perhaps, this is just typo and she did not mean to say the x64 version of the build has the same issue. I hope this helps clarify the problem.

So, to summarize, this seems to happen if you try to run cobundle with 32-bit JDK on 64-bit system, right? I'll try to reproduce on my system but if this is indeed the case, it is possible that the warning is not about the wrapper executable, but about java executable used to kick off installer JVM.

If that assumption is correct, it should be possible to work around the issue by providing -javahome option to installer. I'll confirm this.

This turned out to be another distribution assembly/naming problem similar to GLASSFISH-19818. Staged distribution has been missing self-extracting executable in the beginning of the archive. Fix is checked in, will be available in Java EE 7 SDK b80 which is in progress.
