  • Start the server.
  • Login to the admin console.

Following modifications should be made to this:

  • "system" does not mean anything, IMO. We should change it to say "System JMX
Connector". So, please change the label of the node below admin-service, on the
    left hand side panel.
  • The description "Specifies the port of the jmx-connector-server" of the "port"
attribute is rather incorrect. It should say "Specifies the port of the naming
service (RMIRegistry) where the stub for JMX Connector Server is bound".
  • The "JMX Protocol" field is editable. It should not be. Because this field is
effectively ignored by the backend. In fact, you can remove the field if making
it non-editable is hard. But you could leave it there for view-only purposes.

It will also be good to show the JMXServiceURL of this Connector on this page.
This is because with respect to JMX Connector Server, its JMXServiceURL is the
single most important thing that the JMX browsers are interested in. A use case
is, if an administrator has an easy access to the JMXServiceURL, it can be
easily (copy+paste)d to a tool like JConsole and MBeans could be browsed. We can
also mention that this JMXServiceURL could be used with JConsole, so that it is
useful for the uninitiated.

Let me know if you need an API to get this JMXServiceURL. The API is already

Will change the node name and page content as suggested for fcs. Please provide
API to obtain URL, if the API is available before 3/15, the URL will be shown as
static text in the page. Otherwise, will change this issue to Enhancement, and
address after fcs. thanks

The change for tree node and page content has been checked in.
Waiting for backend API to get the JMXServiceURL, which is issue #394.
I am changing this to Enhancement. Once that API is avaible, will display that
in this page as static text.

JMXServiceURL is displayed as static text in the JMX Edit page.
