      Description

All the JSP releases to date have been framework neutral. This is nice because
it allows other frameworks such as Struts and Tapestry to have a level playing
      field when compared to JSF.

However, this is not the best situation possible for the user. It would be nice
of JSF UIComponents just worked in JSP without having to write a custom tag.

Jacob shared this on the EG list.:

JH> 3. Pertaining to Howard's comments about JSP, I think we brought this up
JH> in the last face to face meeting at JavaOne that JSP really needed to
JH> make JSF a first class citizen (no need for Tags) to use UIComponents.
JH> Hopefully Facelets can act as an example of the good and bad for the
      JH> next rev of JSP.
