The broker log from machine1 was from
/export/home/test/sailfin/domains/domain1/imq (see line 29) and was not
clustered and used port 7676. The structure directory it came from suggests that
the Glassfish instance wasn't clustered either. There's no way this would have
worked with the other instance. So I suspect this isn't the right log.

Can you please check this and supply the server and broker logs for machine 1?

The log I sent you was from this location
        /export/home/test/sailfin/domains/domain1/imq

Previous to sending the logs, I had checked the suggested location e.g.
imq/instances/<brokername>/log/log*.txt and this directory does not contain any
        logs.

server.log for 2nd machine is in this bug attachment

Tried workaround starting nodeagent with syncinstances=true option on machine1
and was able to access application after upgrade.

Closing this issue since it works with syncinstances=true option set...
