Hi Karl,

When I edit the forum posts or replies the plain text editor actually holds the line breaks, but the rich text editor removes/collapses the line breaks.

  • When you first access the forum post or reply what does the text indicated immediately below the text area to the left of the "Save" and "Preview" buttons?
  • Does it say "Switch to plain text editor" or "Switch to rich text editor"? IT should default to "Switch to plan text editor" which indicates the rich text editor is active.

I want to ensure we both are seeing the same behavior so I can troubleshoot this issue.

Thanks.

I have attached two files. The first contains the entered text, as I did it; the second contains the results.

Tested line breaks in RTE and PTE in new thread and replies, all respected line breaks. Closing.

Closing as fixed.

Yeah, this still doesn't work. See:

It is placing my name on the same line as the rest of the comment.

Karl

PS. I cannot reopen this bug even though it isn't working.

Perhaps this is a browser/OS issue:
Windows XP SP 3
Internet Explorer 8

updated the rich text editor for a minimum set of tools on the toolbar. only made the rich text editor available due to issues with converting to and from rich text and plain text editor.
