glassfish has a pretty good CLI (which is actually one of the reasons, why I
switched over from JBoss). However, there is no CLI cmd for modifying the
login.conf of an instance (i.e. add/remove an entry in a reliable way).

I'm wondering about why the realm is not added/removed automatically to/from the
login.conf, when one creates/deletes a realm using the
create-auth-realm/delete-auth-realm command ...

I'm glad to hear that you switched to GlassFish because of the usability of CLI
interface - Thank you!

We'll look into adding this feature in v3.

I'm assigning this bug to you. Can you give some insight on how to implement
this in CLI?

Reassigning to the security team to evaluate whether to implement asadmin subcommands for editing the login.conf file or if there should be a change to create/delete-auth-realm.

Has the security team reached a decision about this ? It would be great if we could hear back about any progress on this issue.

In a completely automated setup, where a realm is created by using the 'asadmin create-auth-realm', I assume that right now it's not possible to add a corresponding entry to login.conf ?
