In 11.1.3 Application Configuration Parameters of JSF 2.0 specification, there is a description about javax.faces.FACELETS_BUFFER_SIZE.

By default the value is -1, which will not assign a buffer size

This puts an unnecessary burden on applications to override this -1 value with a context init param in web.xml. A reasonable default such as "1024" should be specified.
