SipFactory.createRequest javadoc says "Returns: the request object with method, request URI, and From, To, Call-ID, CSeq, Route headers filled in."
Not clear on the rationale of this set of headers. e.g. Max-Forwards is mandatory in RFC3261 table 2, and it seems most container implementations populate it. The javadoc should add this to the list.
The Allow header is a SHOULD in RFC3261. It may be useful if the container populate it with the methods it support as well. (The app can then trim remove anything it does not want to support)

As per the discussion on the EG meeting, decided to add Via, Max-Forwards and Allow as container populated headers.
The 0.8 version distributed contains the fix to the javadoc.
