 Description

Because it is visual noise.

If we do, we'd need to define how to map an endpoint to the context root '/'.

We will not change this: we will stay consistent with the servlet API and specification, rather than align with JAX-RS.

Future specs may use paths with no leading slash for something else.

We will retain the leading slashes consistent with the servlet spec url-pattern.
