Dear All,

Last Saturday I have finished my session @JDC2013 and it was successful session (Thanks God), thanks to you all for support and help.

I have written a brief report about the conference in general, the session and the comments and questions I have asked and provided, and about the final project.

The details could be found here on this link

The presentation could be downloaded from here (it comes in 2 flavors for Windows and Mac users), hope to enjoy it.

Hello Martijn,

Thanks for the tip. Actually, CEJUG encourages individual participation instead. We want to redirect all the attention to our members because the group doesn't have a CV to improve, but our members do. So, we just kindly ask them to add #cejug in their commit message and let us know. And then we promote him/her even more :-)

+1 - Also if your community wants to execute Pull Requests as a group and really avoid mentioning individuals, you can always create a GitHub organisation that represents your JUG (for example, CEJUG) and use that organisation to fork from Adopt a JSR and submit Pull Requests back.

Cheers,
Martijn

Hi Hildeberto,

I also want to mentioned to you and to the mailing list because each individual makes up the community, the individual is the community. And the point your community raise that credit for any contribution should be given to the individual or individuals who have made the contribution(s) wherever possible.

Technically when a pull request is generated, it is done on the back of an 'user id' which belongs to an individual rather than a community - does this response give you and CEJUG more assurance on this subject.

But I would like to place this before the others to make their suggestions or comments if they have a different view.

Regards,
mani

Hildeberto,

It was a pleasure to help you guys with the kick-off, your community looks like they are supported by informed members. Yes eyes and ears open to news from your end! When you said "...couple of days" I think you meant "...couple of weeks".

Cheers,
mani

Hi Mani! Thanks a lot for your participation in our event! That was awesome! As I said, we were having our kickoff meeting and starting all activities on the JSRs on monday. We will keep the community informed about our actions.

We used Google Hangout and it was possible to record the event: You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X93VmOAN4Js. The video was not edited, so it may not be confortable to watch, but it is available! ;-)

See you in London in a couple of days!

Thanks!

It was great to speak to the CEJUG members (with the help of community
translators like Paolo, Helio & Hildeberto). They also had a sign
language translator - great community spirit and commitment towards
Java and the community!

Hope everything shared with you was helpful!

Can you please post to the mailing list any feedback or material
gathered from the session(s) at the end of the day.

Thanks guys!

Cheers,
mani
