Hi all,

Apologies for the delay - I've actually got a bit of a background in this (advised several corporates on licenses as a non-lawyer).  I want to make sure I'm careful about what I say and I also have Devoxx UK to run next week, so it might be a few days yet.  In short my guiding principles are:

* If contributing to an existing RI or TCK for a JSR or OpenJDK, use their license (nothing else really makes sense here, its more or less a hard requirement).
* If simply contributing something else to Adopt OpenJDK / Adopt a JSR - use a license that is as permissive as possible - "If I dropped this on the street anyone could pick it up and use it" license.

*VERY* happy to hear other people's opinions on these principles before I draft a more formal proposal.

Cheers,
Martijn

Could we use the lessons/discussions we had last year about licenses for our OpenJDK programs?

Well Adopt a JSR not strictly so, as it's mailing Java EE 7 work, so a good default license is to chose the license of the RI for that JSR.

Makes sense. But at least one license needs to be added to evict any future problems, right ?
