Thanks a lot for your interest and feedback. I guess you must be subscribed
to the mailing list already, otherwise sending to it normally wouldn't work
With the launch of Java EE 7 there are quite a few areas of synergy between
the "wider JSR 354" and it, though not everything may end up being a core
part of the JSR as such. We have to explore and discuss that, modules even
inside the actual JSR might be EE-specific, but its heart and "core" should
work in every Java environment, even CLDC8, all other parts (including the
likes of conversion, formatting, etc.) at least SE Embedded, also see this
recent announcement by Oracle and ARM:
(given the latter hosts an upcoming EC F2F in the Silicon Valley, we might
hear a little more there or afterwards at JavaOne[?])
You are UK-based, so one option would of course be to participate via the
Adopt-a-JSR program and pick up, where Ben left (wearing too many "hats"
and a lower-level interest in Compilers, Threads or Lambda as opposed to
"Functional" JSRs like this one[?]) Joining LJC if you haven't done so seems
rather easy, it doesn't seem to be incorporated so far, thus you may just
join by attending one of its meetings[?]
On the other hand, judging from your website you may be a *Sole
*consultant or *Student*, is that correct? In which case joining the JCP as
a true and "sustainable" Individual Member (unless your status changed by
working for another company, etc.) and join the Expert Group, too, if you
