Yes they are, see JSR 310, where unless PMO changed its mind (based on
Oracle that after all controls both) the spec document for JSR 310 has been
delayed due to the later shipment date, hence a Renewal Ballot just like
this JSR already passed it could be necessary for the next EC after this
There is at least one JEP until OpenJDK might call it differently (i.E. by
using JIRA to the full extent possible) in the future, that we'd also have
to file. Brian Goetz told me already in January where he whitnessed my
"sales pitch" for JSR 354 before the Renewal Ballot that you may file such
request any time regardless of the state of OpenJDK. It'll be pulled in if
accepted for the right version. 9 seems right for us, unless Oracle has
other plans or priorities.
