I wrote to Jim Wright, Oracle Open Source Policy and Strategy Architect
about the Spec License and what he or Oracle Legal may confirm it applies
to (just PDF, JavaDoc or any other artifacts) Assuming they can and want to
answer that before JSR-358 is finalized, hopefully we may know the answer
soon, but I'm sure he must talk to some actual lawyers at Oracle, too (he
is the "link" to them, but not Oracle Legal himself)
Beside, a very important discovery regarding Pluto is, that it already HAS
a Git repository here: http://git.apache.org/pluto.git/ see
http://git.apache.org/ for all of them
A new devicemap Git repo for one sub-project got me on its trace. Unlike
that repository Pluto isn't mirrored to Github at the moment.
In fact, it could be a somewhat automated SVN mirror at apache.org, since
some files changed only today a few hours ago. Unless active Pluto
committers did that, it might be a mirror from SVN. If additional mirror to
GitHub can be arranged, it would be good, even it it's R/O and just for
cloning or forking (that should always work, but you may not be able raise
a Pull-request at GitHub, except from one fork to another maybe[?])
I am founding member of the Apache DeviceMap project having contributed
most of OpenDDR seed codebase it found a good match to its own effort.
http://incubator.apache.org/devicemap/team.html I am considered "Committer"
already, just haven't taken time to sign the agreement, which would also
get me an apache.org user id. Was a bit busy gathering a few others who
already write code to new modules, including Radu's new Git repository, so
I'm helping to grow the project for now, but also hope to push actual code
especially regarding Java or Python.
