Not just a Java User Group!

With the LAJUG moving north to Santa Monica and the JVM ecosystem rapidly growing outside the core Java language we believed there was a gap in the south bay of a stong JVM oriented technical community. We think of the south bay as El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Redondo, Torrance, Hermosa Beach, Palos Verdes, Inglewood, Hawthorne, Gardena, Carson, Lawndale, Harbor City, Lomita, and San Pedro, but welcome members from anywhere in the Los Angeles area.

Mission Statement

The South Bay JVM User Group's (SBJUG) mission is to promote the exchange of ideas, information, and lessons learned about languages, tools and techniques for building web, desktop, and mobile applications targeting the Java Virtual MachineĀ®

This is not a group for staffing professionals!

We (sbjug members) appreciate recruiters/headhunters/staffing professionals and the service they perform for companies and candidates alike. You are welcome to join the Meetup, and attend any meeting. There will be a few minutes at the beginning of each meeting that you will be allowed at no charge to announce any positions you might have open. This community is open to engineers and programmers only. If you desire to communicate a job posting please use our JUG job board, when it's up and running. Posting jobs, product announcements, or spam will get you removed from the mailing list and banned from future meetings and events. If you are a member of a staffing firm and you post to the mailing list your entire company will be blocked from future participation.
