Solaris Desktop Software

The Solaris Desktop has evolved over the past 3 decades from SunView on SunOS, through OpenWindows and CDE, to the current incarnation, based on open source software from GNOME and Mozilla.

Sources for most of the Oracle Solaris Desktop, as found in Solaris 11 and later releases, are available in the Source Code Repository on this site, and can be built following the instructions on the Building Oracle Solaris Desktop (OSD) Packages page.
