I have two advices for you.
1) It is better to start with sampling in 'Sampler' tab to identify the area, 
which causes the performance problem. Once you have rough idea, what it going 
on, use the profiler.
2) You have to adjust the default settings for profiling Tomcat. See

for more details how to set up profiling.
