Has anyone successfully used git to get the x-ray source code on a Windows machine?
I've installed git version 1.7.4.msysgit.0 on Windows 7, but when I attempt to get x-ray via the documented instructions I get errors as follows:
C:\Projects>git clone git://java.net/x-ray~git Cloning into x-ray~git... java.net[0: 184.108.40.206]: errno=No error java.net[0: 220.127.116.11]: errno=No error fatal: unable to connect a socket (No error)
If I instead try to get it via http I get a different error:
C:\Projects>git clone http://java.net/x-ray~git Cloning into x-ray~git... fatal: http://java.net/x-ray~git/info/refs not found: did you run git update-server-info on the server?
Any ideas what’s wrong? Note: I am able to get other projects successfully. For example, the following works:
C:\Projects>git clone http://github.com/akitaonrails/vimfiles.git Cloning into vimfiles... remote: Counting objects: 2444, done. remote: Compressing objects: 100% (1168/1168), done. remote: Total 2444 (delta 1246), reused 2174 (delta 1114) Receiving objects: 100% (2444/2444), 1.64 MiB | 206 KiB/s, done. Resolving deltas: 100% (1246/1246), done.
Many thanks ...
